Attended the Reuters “speaker’s dinner” on Monday eve. 30th floor dining room overlooking Times Square.
A “who’s who” from financial news media. Chris Ahearn from Reuters, Neil Ashe, CEO from CNET, Gordon Crovitz, EVP of DJ’s consumer media group, James Spanfeller, CEO of Forbes, John Koten, CEO of Mansueto Ventures, John Suhler President of Veronis Suhler Stevenson, Lauren Rich Fine the former ML analyst and David Jackson CEO of Seeking Alpha were in attendance. A few bankers from Jordan Edmiston were also seated around the table.
Andrew Ross Sorkin from NYT’s Deal Book and Allan Murray from WSJ sat up in front of the 20 or so attendees and opined on the state of media while the august crowd dined on Sea Bass and steak. Wine was delicious and the dinner superb. Allan was sharp and witty and added a sense of energy to the discussion.
